Question 7

Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you have learn in the progression from it to the full product?

Question 6

What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?

I have learnt a lot since i started this course.

PhotoShop: Before this task i didn't have a clue how to use photoshop. I felt intimidated by it. When i first used it i was in such a confused state but after that first lesson i have loved working with Photoshop. It has made me able to change the effects on my images which without them, the magazine wouldn't have the same effect. However i found it difficult to cut out an image from a background but with practise i soon found it easier.

Blogger: I was very excited to start using blogger as it is always something that i have found interesting but never got round to doing it. As soon as i started to use blogger i became attached. Since then i have started my own blog about fashion and beauty. I think the idea of a blog, that is interactive on the internet is a perfect idea to use for coursework as its all together in one space.

Question 5

How did you attract/address your audience?

Question 4

Who would be the audience for your media product?

Question 3

What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why?

Co-owned by Smiths News and Menzies Distribution

- WWMD pride themselves on delivering a friendly, fast and effective service. Making the process manageable and profitable for their trading partners, they provide bespoke solutions ensuring each of their clients.

I would use WWMD to distribute my media product because i feel that this institution would be able to offer me platform to boost my magazine sales. I have done in depth research into this company and i have found that there is a gap in their company for an urban magazine.
these are the magazines they do at the moment.

On their website i was looking around to find out information on what their customers thought:

"We have used WWMD for a number of years and have a great working relationship with them. We very rarely come across any problems and if on a rare occasion we do, they are very swift at finding a solution." - Tim Cole - Commercial Writer
Market Trade News

This gives me great confidence in the company that i would be happy to work with them and have my magazine up to the standard that i want it to meet.

The service that WWMD would offer to me, as a publisher, would include:

  • Collecting magazines from printers where necessary
  • Packing and distributing magazines
  • Invoicing and credit control to retail
  • Supplying sales reports and information via industry standard data transfer
  • ABC Compliance
