Music Magazine Audience and Masthead Conventions.

The target audience for 'Top of the pops' is young girls because of the content of the magazine. Including boy bands and quiz's etc.The colours for the masthead are always bold (bright pink) and have 'funky' writing (the 's') I feel that the majority of buyers are girls because magazines like this include pictures of boy bands that they can put up on their wall in their bedroom. The age range is probably from 7-15.

The target audience for 'Billboard' is for teenagers. This is still a pop based magazine but appeals to the older teenager. It has less of the 'fun stuff' and more about music and artists. The colours again are bright bold colours but used in a more sophisticated way.

The target audience for "Beatz magazine' is older teenagers. This magazine is an urban, Hip hop, Rap music, news, reviews and interviews. It has much more daring images in then the pop magazines. This is mainly because of the audience is older. The colours are contrasting, this works well because it makes it stand out.

This is another urban, Hip hop, grime magazine. Both of these magazines have white bold writing on a contrasting background. Again this has more daring images as the target audience is older. These magazines attract a certain stereotype. For example, the grungy, urban looking people.
